Triggered Recording Mode on the 360fly 4K

With the recent software release 2.0.0 we have enabled triggered recordings for the 360fly 4K camera.   Please update your camera if you have not already done so.

Triggered Recording Modes

  1. “Audio” starts recording based on the sound it picks up. This mode is great for surveillance especially when you need to watch the kids, but it’s also useful in a wide variety of other events and situations.
  2. The “Motion” mode begins recording whenever it senses motion. It captures the most situations. For nature photographers and athletes alike, this mode can do it all. From capturing that ever-elusive Sumatran tiger to capturing your best trick on a mega ramp.
  3. The last mode is the “Accelerometer” that’s best for you thrill-seekers. Once the camera starts moving, it starts recording. It’ll start as soon as you start running, driving, or flying. This allows your camera to start recording when your adrenaline starts pumping!

One of the great things about our trigger recording is the customization of these modes that allows you to fine-tune the sensitivity, duration, and delay.

Triggered Recording Settings

  1. Sensitivity - The “Sensitivity” slider allows you to be able to capture the hectic movements of water-skiing yet slow, flowing movements of a jellyfish. It will allow you to adjust the sensitivity to the triggered event: slide to the left to make it less sensitive and to the right to make it more sensitive.
  2. Duration - The “Duration” selector determines how long you want to record— from a quick kickflip to a longer ski run. You can adjust from 5 seconds, 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute and 3 minutes.
  3. Delay -  Like an old-fashioned family photo, the “Delay” selector gives you the ability to record and be in the shot. The delay settings range from 5 seconds, 10 seconds, 30 seconds and 1 minute. Once the recording stops, the camera will wait the selected time and then start recording again.

Additional Recommendations

  • Triggered recordings will be reset after the device has been activated.  Please make sure that you set the mode after you power cycle the device.
  • For race events try maximizing the "Duration" setting to get the lengthen the recording.
  • The “Accelerometer” mode will record 10 seconds before the movement triggers the video to start as it is always recording. Be sure to take this into account.
